The newly established Junior Research Group “Systematic Reviews” (Head: Dr. Sabrina Schlesinger) at the Institute of Biometrics and Epidemiology (Head: Prof. Dr. Oliver Kuß) is seeking for a
PhD Student (payment according 50 % of TV-L 13)
The objective of this group is to conduct systematic reviews and meta-analyses in diabetes research, with focus on anthropometry, metabolic biomarkers, diet and physical activity.

The successful applicant will hold a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine or equivalent. Experiences in conducting systematic reviews (use of biomedical literature databases and reference management software) as well as use of statistical software (e.g. STATA, SAS, R) are desirable but not required. Excellent English skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, a strong scientific interest and ability to communicate and collaborate with staff from a wide range of disciplines and grades are essential.
The position is to be awarded starting from March 1st, 2017 at the earliest and will be funded initially for 2 years with an option of prolongation. Employment conditions and salary are based on the candidate’s qualification and experience according to TV-L as it is valid for the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia including the special regulations for academia.
